The Story of Aaron & Dora Patterson

Aaron PATTERSON was born on 8 May 1866 in Oconee County SC. The son of Cellie and Sallie Patterson of Virginia, Aaron was primarily a sharecropper and farmer all of his life. Approximately in 1885 when Aaron was 18, he married an unknown person and had the following children:

 Lizzie
George W (1886-)
Frank (1888-)
Randa (1890-)

In 1895 when Aaron was 28, he second married Dora SMITH, daughter of David SMITH (1813-) & Deannah OLIVER (1841-), in Anderson County SC. Born in Aug 1872 in Anderson County SC.  Aaron and Dora had the following children:

Samuel A. (Sammie) (1895-)
Sallie Gertrude (1897-1993)
Pearlee (1898-1980)
Earlie (1897-1959)
Artie Evelena (1900-2000)
Pauline (1902-1992)
Amanda (Mandie) (1906-1987)
 
Aaron died in Anderson County SC on 19 Jan 1952 at the age of 85. Dora died in Anderson County SC on 11 Aug 1930, she was 58. Both Aaron and Dora are buried in Anderson County SC. in the Fairfield Methodist Church cemetery.
